Appears to be exceptionally well made. I am currently rounding up some beeswax, an over strike guard and some linseed oil to protect the handle before using it and exposing to the dry winter air.

Very nice axe, super strong, compact, extremely well made, perfect for chopping in tight bush and the long beard protects your fingers, the leather cover and belt loop are very good as well. Shipping is great, faster than expected I love using it.

I got this blade sharpness tester out of curiosity, to know just how sharp my new and old kitchen knives were. Cutting printer paper to see whether my knives were sharp was not discerning enough.
Later on I used it to determine the quality of my own sharpening work to see whether any burr is still left on the cutting edge or not. And this BESS tester helped me with that task.
It's a good instrument. I am glad it is available to us and I am glad to report that the customer service at the store is exceptionally good as well. Both the store and the instrument are highly recommended!
