First time interaction with Axeman. Wanted to replace a broken axe handle and found it really difficult to find a good local supplier of axe handles and accessories. Went to the usual places (Dunbar Lumber, Home Depot, various garden shops) but found the selection limited. Also there was very general information about axes and sizing. Finally found Axeman which provided all the info I needed...also learned a lot from the info they provide. Ordering and delivery was quite smooth although there was a mix-up in my order (which was rectified with no problems). Any inquiries I had were dealt with very quickly. Good experience all around. They are a good Canadian company using Canada Post and Shopify (both good Canadian companies) to support their business. I will be recommending them to all my friends. Keep it going! Support Canada.
If you only wanted one axe for around the property, this could be it.
The other day, I challenged myself to fell, limb, buck and split a moderately sized spruce. I did the whole job with this axe. The only problem I encountered was keeping up with the caloric demand for the job.

Of my four Silkys this is my favorite! Slices through logs like butter, compact and light enough to hike in to clear trails and for bushcraft camp chores. This is a tool I will pass down to my kids! And excellent fast shipping from Axeman! Just buy one already!

This is the best axe for splitting (95% on the task) and chopping (5%of the task for branch).
The length is not too long, not too short, just perfect for the camp operations.

I really like the magnetic scraper because it is effective at holding metal from knives which is in the water. This amount of metal was from 10 knives which where at 432 g to 1369 g on BESS C scale prior to sharpening. Final BESS C score was in range of 143 g to 278 g.
I had a problem (well, I broke a piece of equipment when I dropped it…not so brilliant eh) and with Family Day on the way, I had hoped to use the equipment for bragging rights with family and friends. I had purchased the equipment through Axeman a bit ago, and I contacted Jeremy at Axeman first, and that’s all it took. Within a couple day’s Jeremy called back to say he had contacted Bess and the needed replacement part would be on its way to me shortly. That’s a happy ending. And exceptional service. I highly recommend this store and their products.
