Stålberg Carpenter Axe, 800 g Premium

HU-841730

With its straight handle and long, narrow and straight edge, this carpenter axe provides you with the precision any skilled craftsman demands. The finger notch in the axe head allows a grip where your hand is placed, almost straight above the center of the cutting edge, for increased precision. The axe is hand forged and made from Swedish quality steel in the forge at Hults Bruk. The forging tradition goes as far back as 1697, and the steel head is struck 40-60 times to increase density and durability to the head. This axe is named after one of Hults Bruk’s most experienced blacksmiths from the first half of the 20th century, Ernst Stålberg. Take care of your axe and it will stay a faithful companion for many years to come.

A beautiful Carpenters Axe.

Great service, friendly, shipping really quick, and an all around very satisfactory experience. The axe itself seems perfect and I bought this model as I prefer a straight handle. Quality is very good, the sheath is very sturdy and the blade very sharp, it also feels well balanced and very comfortable in the hand. I am yet to use the axe much so at this time cannot comment on the quality of the steel and how well it retains an edge but in my experiences with swedish steel is it's very hard to find better.
As a person who always buys quality this axe fits the bill admirably, sure I could buy a cheap hatchet but where's the enjoyment in that. Looking forward to using it for years to come.
Good job and well done.
Thank you.

had my doubts at first i got the classic version of this carpenters axe ended up being 50 grams less then it stated on this site 800gram head not 850 but once i used it, it blew me away so much bite and control and the edge has yet to dull i haven't had to resharpen just hone afterwards and i have been good to go very pleased!
