Aluminum Test Fixture

ATF10G

New Design

The ATF10G replaces the original ATF10 test fixture and has been redesigned to feature a new location for the locking knob. The new design reloads faster and easier and also conserves media by using less for each test.

For All PT50 Series Sharpness Testers

The Aluminum Test Fixture works with all three of the PT50 Series Testers: the PT50A Industrial Edge Tester, the PT50B Pro Edge Tester and the PT50C Home Edge Tester.

Test Media Sold Separately

The Aluminum Test Fixture is sold without any Test Media. Additional DoubleX+ Test Media is available for refilling Aluminum Test Fixtures, but must be purchased separately.

DoubleX+Test media canister, Aluminum Test Fixture

I like using Aluminum Test Fixture and having spare media. This is cheaper than clips. One important note is 100g is the weight needed to provide proper tension to media. Too lose result with be high, too tight and result will be too low. This is why 100g tension to get consistent accurate results. Ie push slowly, not fast. Pushing fast will give low result which is not correct.

Test fixture with wire cassette

Glad I bought the test fixture and wire cassette,I liked the idea of the 50 A Bess tester but at taxes in 445.00 opted to use the tester on my 2000 g scale. This has really helped my sharpening.Cutting paper for testing the edge is really not accurate enough.I measure 4 times every time I test, I measure before sharpening, after sharpening, after stropping, and would suggest before and after honing the results may surprise you. Also a good idea to measure 3 place along your blade to check for consistency. Your not able to use the Bess chart if you use your own weigh scale that has zero effect for me.I was curious so I tested a de razor blade that test at 50 on the Bess tester I did four test and got between 50 and 55
