Good Quality Products Still Exist, and Axeman Sells Them

I purchased this for backpacking use upon recommendations from ultralight packers on Reddit. While not particularly light upon purchase, by removing the handle (the red screws make it a breeze to uninstall/reinstall) and making a new sheath from canvas, it is much lighter than a hatchet.

The product itself is phenomenal, it cuts fast and stays sharp. It truly is a joy to use good tools, and this makes me smile with every cut. Especially on the dry conifers of the Canadian Rockies.

If you're looking for a backpacking, canoe camping, or light-duty car-camping saw, look no further.

Axeman was perfect too: reasonable price, good selection/availability, and fast + cheap shipping. What more could I want?

Beautiful saw

While I have not actually used this saw yet, I was very impressed by its obvious quality. It looks and feels great and is obviously a much better pruning and trimming saw than the folding saw which have been using to date.
I especially like the design of its cutting teeth which are designed to prevent the saw binding in the limb which is being trimmed.
I can hardly wait to use it.
