Rooftop Home & Cottage Fire Protection Kit

CFP-4003

Defend the Surface Embers Hit First: Your Roof

When wildfire embers rain down on a property, the roof takes the brunt of it. It is the largest surface you own, it collects dry needles and leaves in every valley and gutter, and a single ember smouldering up there can take the whole structure while the fire front is still kilometres away. The Rooftop Home & Cottage Fire Protection Kit puts purpose-built sprinklers right where that threat lands.

The roof-mounted sprinklers sit on your ridge line and keep shingles, valleys, gutters, and eaves continuously soaked, while the runoff wets the walls and ground immediately around your foundation. A wet roof gives embers nowhere to take hold, and the added moisture cools and humidifies the air around the structure. Deploy it when an evacuation alert is issued, turn on the water, and leave knowing the most vulnerable part of your home is protected.

✅ The Simplest Serious Protection You Can Add

No plumbing changes, no permanent installation, no pump required. The kit connects with standard garden hose thread fittings and runs off your outdoor taps. Set it up once in the spring to learn the layout and confirm your water pressure covers the roof, then store it ready to deploy in minutes when it counts.

  • Anyone starting their wildfire protection setup with the highest-impact piece first

💡 Why Start With the Roof?

Most homes lost to wildfire ignite from ember cast, not the flame front. Embers carried kilometres ahead of a fire land on roofs, lodge in gutters full of dry debris, and smoulder into structure fires long before flames arrive, and often after crews have pulled back. Keeping the roof wet attacks that exact failure point. It is why structure protection crews put sprinklers on roofs first when defending threatened homes. As with all fire protection equipment, this kit is a preventative measure, not a guarantee, and never a reason to stay behind when an evacuation order is issued.

🔧 Which Kit Do I Need?

This kit focuses your water where embers do the most damage: the roof. Want ground-level perimeter sprinklers and hose lines too? Our full Home & Cottage Fire Protection Kit covers the roof and surrounding ground together. Running off a lake, tank, or pump instead of taps? See the Pump Connect Home & Cottage Kit. And for acreages and multiple buildings, the Forestry & Wildland Sprinkler Kit covers over 34,000 square feet. Unsure which fits? Email info@axeman.ca and we will point you right.

 Frequently Asked Questions

Will roof sprinklers damage my shingles?

No. The sprinklers deliver a water pattern similar to rainfall, which roofing is designed to handle. Keeping the roof wet during ember fall is far gentler on it than fire.

Do I need a pump to run this kit?

No. It connects to standard outdoor garden hose taps. If your property runs on a lake, tank, or low-pressure well, look at our pump-connect version instead.

How do the sprinklers stay on the roof?

Each sprinkler comes on a roof mount designed to sit securely on the ridge or roof surface, positioned so the spray pattern covers the roof planes and runs off into gutters and down walls.

When should I set it up?

Test the full setup in spring so you know your layout and water pressure. During fire season, deploy when an evacuation alert is issued, turn the water on when you leave, and never stay behind during an evacuation order.
