I purchased the Gransfors Splitting Maul and the Hultafors hatchet recently, and both products are exceptional for my needs. The guard fit my Aby like a glove, a bit of hockey tape under for friction and I laced it up damp with a bit of warm water to get a good stretch on the leather.
I needed a versatile size for splitting 10"-12" lengths of split wood for the sauna stove. Just like Goldilocks, not to big and not to small so use accordingly. I also wanted a useable tool as opposed to piece of art, although it's there to in Scandinavian fabrication. The price point was good too.

Such an well made piece, very happy with the purchase. The picture on the site shows a lighter coloured handle, but mine came in with a deeper/ richer colored handle, what a pleasant surprise. A tip of the hat to the custom design of each piece. Love it, Thank you!
