Named after the rugged landscapes of Kolmården, the Getå is built for those who need real chopping performance without carrying a full-sized felling axe. Compact enough for camp, canoe, or truck, yet powerful enough for serious woodland work, it bridges the gap between portability and capability. Its 2 lb. head and 20-inch American hickory handle deliver the chopping power and efficiency of a true two-handed axe while remaining easy to pack and carry. Whether felling smaller trees, limbing, processing firewood, or tackling camp chores, the Getå provides an ideal balance of power, control, and portability. The updated Yankee-pattern head features a higher grind that improves edge durability and encourages clean release in the cut, while the refined bit geometry promotes deep penetration and larger chips with every swing. Hand-forged at Hults Bruk from proprietary Swedish steel, the Getå is hand-sharpened and finished forge-black, blending traditional Swedish craftsmanship with the durability and reliability needed for years of hard use in the field.
Hults Bruk axe heads are forged from customized high-quality steel, with an alloy specifically engineered for this purpose, providing exceptional strength and performance. The steel is produced completely CO₂-neutral and is fully recyclable. Each head is hand-forged using the open-die free forging method. The axe head is then hardened and tempered for long-lasting durability. With a hardness of approximately 54–56 HRC on the Rockwell scale, these axe heads offer superior sharpness and edge retention. The cutting edge is hand-ground and polished to ensure precision and reliability with every swing. As one of the final steps in the forging press, each axe head is proudly stamped with the traditional Hults Bruk mark - a symbol of quality and craftsmanship.
Disclaimer: As each Hults Bruk axe is hand forged, minor variations in weight, dimensions, and finish may occur.
