What is a strangler clamp for?

It clamps the hose shut anywhere along its length, giving you instant shut-off without a valve and without walking back to the pump. Crews use them to hold pressure while swapping nozzles, adding hose, or making repairs.

Are the repair sleeves permanent fixes?

No, they are temporary field repairs designed to keep a damaged line working through the job. Replace or properly repair the hose section afterward.
